Teachers Network is a non-profit education organization that has been working for more than 20 years to support and connect innovative teachers through grants and networking opportunities in the areas of curriculum, leadership, policy and new media. With headquarters in New York City, the Teachers Network community of educators is linked nationwide by 21 affiliated organizations including education foundations, public school systems, and several state education departments that have adopted Teachers Network programs. Recently, Teachers Network established its first international affiliation with the launch of TeachNet Ireland. Teachers Network’s mission is to provide teachers with the knowledge and skills to become leaders in their classrooms and schools, thereby improving student learning and achievement.

Please select from the Major Features of TeachersNetwork.org from the topics on the left.

Teachers Network Leadership Institute (TNLI):  TNLI was established to improve student achievement by giving teachers an active voice in education policymaking so that policy decisions are informed by the realities of daily classroom life. TNLI MetLife Fellows--all full-time teachers from Teachers Network affiliates--research key issues and develop recommendations based on their findings. These findings are then published and disseminated nationwide. To help get the word out, fellows routinely present their research and recommendations to policymakers at all levels. In addition, many fellows serve on local, state, and national education policy advisory boards and task forces.

IMPACT II Grants: Teachers Network helps teachers make the most of innovative and creative ideas by awarding them grants to package and disseminate their ideas to other interested teachers, who then adapt and tailor them to their own classrooms. More than 40,000 teachers have received IMPACT II grants to develop, document, and disseminate innovative preK-12 programs in the curriculum areas of science, math, technology, and literacy.

TeachNet: TeachNet seeks to improve student learning by helping teachers develop appropriate and effective instructional materials that infuse the Internet and support local and state standards. Teachers have access to curriculum and technical specialists, grants, and a supportive network to further develop their skills throughout the year. Teacher projects are published online and disseminated to educators both locally and worldwide. These teachers are in the vanguard of educational reform, ensuring quality control of classroom instruction and responsible use of technology.
