Igor:

When I went on giverny.org I looked at the files (or on the website "Nympheas") since I liked how Claude Monet drew lilies.  Then when I looked at the lilies I noticed one that just popped out at me with colors (such as reds, violets, and pinks seen in the background.)

Also, on the website the writing below was the text next to the painting:

"There was a stream, the Epie, which came down from Gisors on the boundary of my property.  I opened up a ditch so that I could fill the little pond that I had dug in my garden.  I love water but I also love flowers.  That's why, when the pond was filled, I wished to decorate it with plants.  I took a catalogue and made a choice any old how.  That's all."

Exzann:

Claude Oscar Monet

The reason why I chose Monet was because it is interesting to see what his personal thoughts of nature were.  And how he saw it.  I think he has drawn this location because he wanted people to see nature differently.  He didn't want people to see it just as a plain old garden.  He wanted them to see beautiful wild flowers scattered all over the ground.  Large flowers, small flowers, and large trees.  And also that each flower and tree had its own shape, size, and different colors.  He wanted people to take a closer look at our world and environment.  He figured that if the people took that closer look, that it would change how they saw it and also make a big difference.

I learned that Claude Monet was born in London.  I learned that his artwork became very valuable and popular during the 1800's.  He also painted many varieties of landscapes, towers, gardens, and small towns as well as cities of London and Paris.
