Keynote Address Strand I: Taking Action with Teacher Research

Speakers: Frances Rust, Professor, New York University and Advisor, Teachers Network Policy Institute; Jane Fung, MetLife Fellow, Teachers Network Policy Institute; Chris Mullin, MetLife Fellow, Teachers Network Policy Institute
The Teachers Network Policy Institute offers teacher educators and public school teachers a forum for collaboration toward educational change, developing leadership in schools, and improving student achievement. This initiative provides teachers with professional growth opportunities and support through networking with other teachers, enables them to acquire skills and training to conduct action research in their classrooms and schools, share their knowledge with the public and policymakers at all levels, become leaders in the profession, and assume high-profile positions. The Holmes Partnership will be supporting the development of five pilot programs to create Teachers Network Policy Institute affiliates. This collaboration is intended to extend HP’s commitment to local capacity building, research and documentation, and policy engagement.
