Learners
This lesson is designed for
the fourth grade social studies area of study, but it involves other curriculum
areas also. It could be adapted to higher grades which are studying
the desert environment. For older students there may be more
advanced and detailed research. Older students would probably not
need a template to design the Virtual Desert Museum and could be given
a choice of software programs to design the Museum.
Prior Skills needed:
The students should be familiar
with the KWL research method which involves answering three questions.
*What do I Know?
*What do I Want to know?
*What have I Learned?
Knowledge of Hyperstudio would
be beneficial, but not necessary. The template will be setup by the
teacher, so
the children will be designing and placing text on the Hyperstudio cards.
