In the wake of NCLB and similar pressures, a newly mandated statewide curriculum will hit
Middleford Middle School—a school that has been scoring “at the bottom of the pile” on
standardized test scores in recent years. The plot thickens as teachers and administrators
alike wonder how to improve student achievement and keep parents from removing students
from their school, especially when faced with a dramatically changing ethnic and socioeconomic
demographic.
